There is a strong Irish connection in Colorado. The great silver rush brought tens of thousands to the Rockies between 1877 and 1890 in search of work and fortunes and many of those were Irish. But even if you’re not Irish, St. Patrick’s Day has become synonymous with fun and friends, so all that matters is that you don something green and get out there!
Irish tradition and lore say that wearing green made one invisible to fairies and leprechauns and apparently, these mythical creatures have a penchant for pinching anyone they can see (those not wearing green). Add an emerald to the mix. Although the traditional birthstone for March is aquamarine, we think that a well-placed emerald will add that finishing touch to your St. Paddy’s Day outfit.
